Dietary Lifestyles Module
The Dietary Lifestyles module adds a dedicated lifestyle system built around allowing Sims to explore different ways of eating.
Dietary lifestyles can be used as a temporary choice to help a Sim reach a specific goal, or as a permanent part of their everyday life. A Sim might follow a lifestyle for health, discipline, personal values, weight management, storytelling, or simply because it fits their personality.
Dietary lifestyles are not automatically assigned. Players can choose when and how a Sim starts one.
The Lifestyles
Here is a quick overview of each lifestyle and how it works.
Dietary Lifestyle | How It Works |
Vegan | A stricter plant based lifestyle that goes beyond EA’s Vegetarian trait. More than just a diet lifestyle. This lifestyle goes beyond what your Sim eats and can shape how they live too. |
EA’s Vegetarian | A key override I did for the existing vegetarian trait is remove them from the CAS menu. The vegetarian lifestyle will be assigned in the same menu as the other dietary lifestyles |
Pescatarian | A lifestyle for Sims who have a genuine love of fish and seafood and want to build their whole diet around it. |
Liquid Diet | A liquid-based lifestyle built around drinks instead of regular meals. This may suit Sims who are focused on gut cleansing, removing impurities, or using it as part of a weight loss journey. |
Intermittent Fasting | A lifestyle centred around discipline, structure, and self control. With set eating and fasting windows to maintain, fasting can help improve focus, strengthen self control, and boost mental skill gain over time. |
Apex Diet | A high protein, meat heavy lifestyle for Sims who are serious about strength, fitness, and being the most dominant alpha in the room. |
Assigning a Dietary Lifestyle
Dietary lifestyles are not meant to be automatically assigned, these are meant to be active choices a sim makes. There are multiple ways your Sim can get one.
Through the Settings Menu
You can manually assign a lifestyle to any Sim at any time through the My Dietary Life Settings Menu. This is the most direct option and gives you full control from the start.
Through Gameplay
Sims can discover lifestyles naturally during gameplay. A conversation with another Sim might result in that sim recommending a lifestyle, or your Sim can research a specific lifestyle on the computer to trigger the lifestyle.
Lifestyle Commitment
Every lifestyle uses a three-stage commitment tracker. Commitment goes up when your Sim follows their lifestyle and comes down when they break it.
Rank | Stage | What It Means |
Rank 1 | Getting Started | Your Sim has recently started the lifestyle and is still adjusting |
Rank 2 | Building Commitment | Your Sim is becoming more consistent and starting to unlock stronger benefits |
Rank 3 | Locked In | Your Sim is fully committed and receives the strongest lifestyle rewards |
Aligned and Misaligned Food
Every lifestyle checks whether the food your Sim is eating supports or conflicts with that lifestyle.
Aligned food fits the lifestyle. Eating it can give your Sim a positive reaction and increase commitment. Misaligned food goes against the lifestyle. Eating it can trigger a negative reaction and reduce commitment. This is how the mod tracks whether your Sim is staying consistent with how they have chosen to eat.
Lifestyle Suitability
Some lifestyles may not be suitable for every Sim. This mod will not stop you from assigning them but it will warn you before you continue.
Unsafe
The lifestyle may not be appropriate for the Sim’s current situation. This can apply because of pregnancy, breastfeeding, age, being underweight, certain allergies, or certain health conditions.
Harder to Maintain
The lifestyle may require more effort to increase lifestyle commitment. This can apply because of food dislikes, allergies, dietary restrictions, lifestyle conflicts, life stage, or health status.
Each Lifestyle in Detail
Apex Diet
The Apex Diet is a fictional dietary lifestyle created for Sims who take meat eating to an extreme. It is not based on a real-world diet. Instead it is built around the idea of Sims who eat like apex predators and see every meal as fuel for strength, dominance, and physical power.
Apex Sims build commitment purely through what they eat. Meat-based meals are aligned and will increase commitment. Plant-based meals, lighter foods, and dishes without meat are misaligned. If an Apex Sim regularly eats food that does not fit the lifestyle, their commitment can drop.
As commitment grows, Apex Sims start to see the physical benefits of eating this way and their presence can begin to affect the Sims around them.
Rewards:
- Increased fitness skill gain
- Boosted muscle gain
- Primal attraction effect at higher commitment stages that nearby Sims will pick up on
- Cheat day once a week
Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux Integration
When Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux(Patreon Version) is also downloaded, Apex Sims may also receive health related side effects from this diet which includes:
- Increased Blood Pressure
- Increased risk of colon cancer
Cheat Day
Apex Sims can take a temporary Cheat Day when they need a break from their usual meat focused routine.
While Cheat Day is active, the Sim can eat non Apex foods without losing lifestyle commitment.
Cheat Day does not help the Sim build Apex commitment. It simply protects them from losing progress while they take a short break from the lifestyle.
Vegan Lifestyle
Vegan Sims should avoid food containing meat, fish, dairy, eggs, and honey. Plant-based meals are aligned and will increase commitment. Meals containing animal products are misaligned and can trigger negative reactions.
This lifestyle goes beyond food. As commitment grows, additional rules begin to apply. Commitment goes down by:
- Eating animal-derived food
- Wearing clothing made from animal-derived materials
- Fishing
- Horse riding
- Taking part in animal use activities where supported
- Repeatedly ignoring the lifestyle rules
Animal-friendly behaviour can support the lifestyle and may help your Sim build commitment.
Stage 2: Outfit Materials Matter
Once your Sim reaches stage two, what they wear starts to matter. Vegan Sims will prefer not to wear clothes made from silk, wool, or leather. You can check your Sim’s clothing materials directly in CAS.
Stage 3: Animal Liberation
At stage three, Vegan Sims unlock animal liberation gameplay. Depending on their level of commitment, Vegan Sims will be able to liberate farm animals from other Sims who own them.
Rewards
As Vegan Sims build commitment, they will receive the below combination of rewards:
Possible Vegan rewards include:
- Increased Wellness skill gain
- Improved relationship gain with animals
- Stage 3 unlocks the Free an Animal interaction
- Improved acne for teens
Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux Integration
When Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux integration is available, Vegan Sims may also receive health related benefits.
Possible integration effects include:
- Immune system increase as lifestyle commitment grows
- Reduced blood sugar as sims eat aligned food
- Reduced blood pressure as sims eat aligned food
These benefits help the lifestyle connect with wider health gameplay where the required integration is installed.
Pescatarian Lifestyle
The Pescatarian lifestyle is for Sims who LOVE eating fish and seafood.
Pescatarian Sims can eat fish, seafood, vegetarian meals, and suitable plant-based dishes. However they should avoid red meat, poultry, and other land animal meats.
Features
Pescatarian Sims build commitment by eating seafood, fish-based meals, and suitable meat-free dishes. Eating land animal meat can reduce commitment and trigger negative reactions.
This lifestyle works well for skilled fishing Sims, Sulani gameplay, seafood lovers, and Sims who want a more flexible alternative to Vegetarian.
Rewards
- Increased Fishing skill
- Gradual improvement in acne for teens
Side Effects
- Complicated relationships with Mermaids and sims with child of the ocean trait.
- Mercury Poisoning when sim consumes too much fish.
Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux Integration
When Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux is also downloaded, Pescatarian Sims may also receive health related benefits.
Possible integration effects include:
- Immune system increase as lifestyle commitment grows
- Reduced blood sugar as sims eat aligned food
- Reduced blood pressure as sims eat aligned food
Mercury Poisoning
Over time, a Pescatarian Sim can accumulate mercury in their system. The more fish they eat, the higher their mercury levels climb.
Mercury exposure builds up silently in the background. Your Sim will not know anything is wrong at first. Early symptoms like nausea and an unsettled stomach are easy to dismiss. As levels rise, things get harder to ignore. Bleeding gums, persistent nausea, and increasing pain are signs that something is seriously wrong.
Sims may also experience pain when brushing their teeth and eating aswell as romantic consequences.
Checking For Symptoms
- Pescatarian Sims can use the mirror to check their gums for signs of bleeding
- Pescatarian Sims can book a Mercury Screening at any time via their phone. Results come back with medical advice and next steps based on current mercury levels.
Treatment
Sims diagnosed with mercury poisoning can book chelation therapy via their phone and attend treatment at the hospital.
Recovery
Sims can book a follow up screening via their phone to confirm their recovery. Some Sims will be cleared after a single chelation appointment. Others may need to book a follow up session before they are given the all clear.
There is also a chance that the physical strain of mercury poisoning leaves a lasting mark. Some Sims may develop a fish allergy as a result of their illness. If this happens, the attending physician will advise that the pescatarian lifestyle is no longer suitable and your Sim will need to expand their diet to accommodate their new food restriction.
Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle
The Intermittent Fasting lifestyle is based on when a Sim eats, not just what they eat. During the eating window, Sims can eat normally. During the fasting window, Sims should avoid food. Water, tea, and coffee are allowed.
This is a lifestyle that helps with improving a sim’s mental clarity,
Features
When the intermittent fasting lifestyle is first chosen as a lifestyle the afternoon window is set as a default but Players can choose a different fasting window through the My Dietary Life menu.
Preparation is important. Sims should eat properly before their fasting window begins so they can get through the fast without becoming too hungry.
Exercise may increase hunger, which can make fasting harder to maintain.
Available fasting windows include:
Fasting Window | Eating Window | Fasting Window | Fasting Time Length | Difficulty |
Morning Window | 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM | 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM | 10 hours | Easy |
Afternoon Window | 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM | 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM | 12 hours | Medium |
Night Window | 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM | 2:00 AM to 4:00 PM | 14 hours | Hard |
Rewards
- Increased Focused ability
- Mental skill gain benefits
- Reduced weight gain
- Easier weight loss
- Reduced hunger decay as sim develops to stage 2 and 3 of intermittent fasting.
- Extreme focus the hungrier the sim becomes, a fasting high.
Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux Integration
When Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux integration is available, Intermittent Fasting Sims may also receive health related benefits.
Possible integration effects include:
- Reduced blood sugar as sims maintain fasting streak

Liquid Diet Lifestyle
The Liquid Diet lifestyle focuses on liquid based consumption.
This lifestyle is built around consuming liquids, soft foods, soups, smoothies, shakes, and other drinkable recipes. It can be used for Sims who are doing a cleanse, trying to reset their eating habits, focusing on weight loss, or following a temporary lifestyle challenge.
For Liquid diet feature I would recommend having one of the below for smoothie options:
Adventure awaits pack

LittleBowBub Smoothies – Smoothies | Patreon
Liquid Streak
Liquid Diet Sims can build streaks by continuing the lifestyle over time.
The longer the Sim maintains the Liquid Diet streaks, the more health benefits they will receive.
Rewards
- Increased weight loss
- Mixology skill gains
- Reduced sickness
- Improvement in acne for teens
- When sims have celiac disease, liquid diet lifestyle will help in reducing any long term damage caused from excessive gluten exposure
Cross-Module Feature: Liquid Diet Recommendation
Celiac Disease connects with the Dietary Lifestyles module. If a Sim with Celiac Disease has had repeated or excessive gluten exposure, their Gastroenterologist may recommend temporarily following a Liquid Diet as part of their recovery pathway.
When the recommendation comes through, you can choose whether to follow it.
Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux Integration
When Adeepindigo Healthcare Redux integration is available, Pescatarian Sims may also receive health related benefits.
Possible integration effects include:
- Immune system increase as lifestyle commitment grows
- Reduced blood sugar as sims eat aligned food
- Reduced blood pressure as sims eat aligned food
- Reduced risk of colon cancer if Patreon version is downloaded
- When sims have celiac disease, liquid diet lifestyle will help in reducing any long term damage caused from excessive gluten exposure and reduce the risk of lymphoma if Adeepindigo healthcare patreon version is downloaded.
Side Effects + Basemental Integregation
- Drinking alcohol does not count as an appropriate liquid for this lifestyle. Due to the lack of solid foods in your sim’s system drinking alcohol will cause your sim to get drunker quicker than usual if Basemental alcohol/drugs is downloaded.
Leaving or Losing a Lifestyle
Voluntary Removal
You can remove a Sim’s lifestyle at any time through the My Dietary Life Settings Menu. Sims can also choose to Rethink Their Current Dietary Lifestyle through the Actions Menu. This is a more gameplay-friendly way for a Sim to step away from a lifestyle naturally when their habits, goals, or story have changed.
Involuntary Loss
If a Sim repeatedly eats food that conflicts with their lifestyle, commitment will keep dropping. Once it falls too low, the Sim may lose the lifestyle completely without any direct action from the player.
Settings Menu
The My Dietary Life Settings Menu can be accessed by clicking your sim and going to the actions menu.
Here is a summary of what you can do for this module:
Option | What It Does |
Assign Dietary Lifestyle | Gives the selected Sim a dietary lifestyle |
Remove Current Dietary Lifestyle | Removes the Sim’s current dietary lifestyle |
Set Fasting Window | Lets you choose the eating and fasting schedule for Intermittent Fasting Sims |
Toggle Fasting Notification | Turns on or off reminders that let you know when it is time for your Sim to eat during their eating window |
