Responsible Pregnancy Overview

The Responsible Pregnancy Mod adds realistic pregnancy health mechanics to The Sims 4. This mod primarily focuses on what Sims SHOULD and SHOULDN’T do during pregnancy and after childbirth. Actions during pregnancy have direct consequences for both the Sim’s health and the baby’s condition at birth.

Modular System

This mod is divided into separate modules. You can either install only the ones you want, or install all of them for the full experience. Each module focuses on a specific health risk or pregnancy aspect.

Core Features

The Core Features module is mandatory as it provides the foundation for the Responsible Pregnancy mod, by adding pregnancy and parenting interactions, customizable settings, and support systems for your Sims’ journey from pregnancy through early parenthood.

Module 2 : Caffeine Consumption

This module simulates the risks of excessive caffeine consumption during pregnancy. Pregnant Sims who drink too much coffee, tea, or energy drinks will experience pregnancy insomnia that can affect both themselves and their developing baby.

Module 4 : Healthy Eating

This module tracks your pregnant Sim’s dietary choices and rewards healthy eating while simulating the risks of poor nutrition. What your Sim eats directly impacts both their pregnancy experience and their baby’s health.

Module 6 : Household Chores

This module simulates the specific risks that come with household chores during pregnancy from mopping floors to vacuuming to wiping down surfaces. Pregnant Sims need to avoid activities that expose them to harmful substances or put strain on their back from bending at uncomfortable angles.

Module 1 : Substance Abuse

This module introduces consequences for substance use during pregnancy, including behavioural reactions, health risks, and social judgment.

Module 3 : Toxoplasmosis Risk

Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic infection that can be transmitted through contact with cat poo, contaminated soil, undercooked meat, or unwashed produce. This can pose serious risks to the developing baby. Pregnant Sims with cats or who work on farms need to be extra cautious!

Module 5 : Prenatal Exertion

This module tracks the risks and benefits of physical activity during pregnancy, monitoring three interconnected factors: exercise intensity, body temperature, and hydration levels. Staying active is important during pregnancy, but pregnant Sims need to know their limits and take proper precautions to keep both themselves and their baby safe.

Module 7: Newborn Complications

This module introduces realistic newborn health complications that are directly influenced by the actions pregnant Sims take during their pregnancy. Whether your newborn is born healthy or faces challenges depends entirely on how responsibly the pregnant Sim behaved throughout their pregnancy.

Requirements: At least ONE of Modules 1-6 must be installed for this module to function

Without these this component, no part of the mod will function.

Module 7 requires at least ONE of modules 1-6 to be installed along with the CORE package.
