Basemental Drugs Mod x Kemzima Mods
What is Basemental Drugs?
A collection of functional drugs for The Sims 4. This mod features custom drugs, custom animations, altered walkstyles, altered moods, altered needs, come-ups, peaks, comedowns, hangovers, addiction, rehabilitation, and loads more. Basemental is in no way promoting, encouraging or glorifying the use of drugs in real life. The harsh realities and negatives of prolonged drug use is a key feature of the mod.
Political world Mod
In Political World, each political ideology has a dedicated guru. These are pre made Sims who act as mentors, figureheads, and gateways to certain perks. These NPCs can appear at specific venues and can influence your Sim’s political journey.
For Libertarian Sims, the Libertarian guru gives access to black market related gameplay.
Libertarian Guru and Black Market Access
Libertarian Sims who befriend the Libertarian guru can unlock the Black Market Deal interaction. This hidden interaction is available from 6pm to 6am and allows Sims to sell inventory items for untaxed profit.
Libertarian Sims receive better prices through this system. If they are caught selling illegally, they can face fines and increased surveillance.
This feature also supports items from Basemental Drugs, which means Basemental content can feed directly into the underground economy system in Political World.
Responsible Pregnancy Mod
The Responsible Pregnancy Mod originally started as a Basemental addon. Its initial purpose was to add consequences when pregnant Sims drank alcohol or used drugs during pregnancy.
Since then, the mod has grown into seven modules, each focusing on different pregnancy related risks and behaviours. Even so, the original purpose of the mod still remains, and Module 1 continues to be significantly enhanced by compatibility with Basemental Drugs.
Module 1: Substance Abuse
This mod is compatible whether you use Basemental Drugs or not, however havign this mod significantly enhances the gameplay.
If Basemental Drugs is installed, the module recognises Basemental substances and applies my full pregnancy substance risk system to them. This includes drugs such as tobacco, cannabis, cocaine, MDMA, and other supported substances from Basemental.
If Basemental Drugs is not installed, the module still functions, but it focuses mainly on alcoholic drinks and the bubble blower from the City Living pack. In my mod, the bubble blower is treated similarly to tobacco in terms of pregnancy risk because of its hookah style use.
I have also replaced the secondhand smoke proximity buff with a custom buff for pregnant Sims. This means that when a pregnant Sim is exposed to secondhand smoke, they receive a pregnancy specific reaction within my system.
For Sims that Basemental identifies as addicts, whether that is drug addiction, tobacco addiction, or alcohol addiction, the consequences are more severe if they continue consuming the harmful substance during pregnancy. This allows addiction status from Basemental to affect the level of risk and consequence in Responsible Pregnancy rather than treating all substance use the same.
