Small But Mighty Mod Integrations
Not every mod integration is a deep system overhaul. Some of the most important compatibility work in my mods comes from smaller framework and content mods that quietly make features possible in the first place. This post covers three of those integrations: Chingyu’s Custom Club Filter mod, Zerbu’s Custom Preferences mod, and a range of custom CC drink content that feeds into Responsible Pregnancy’s substance abuse module.
Chingyu's Custom Club Filter Mod
Chingyu’s Custom Club Filter mod expands the club system in The Sims 4 by allowing custom traits/sim attributes to be recognised in club settings. Without this, mods that introduce custom traits or categories have no reliable way to surface those traits within the club creation system, meaning players would have no way to build clubs around them.
Political World Mod
In the Political World mod, Sims can be assigned a range of political traits depending on their ideology and political identity. Chingyu’s mod is what makes those traits usable within the club system. With it installed, players can create clubs that filter by political identity, allowing for things like party-aligned clubs, politically themed social groups, or ideologically motivated organisations within the game.
This is a relatively small but meaningful integration. It does not change how Political World’s core systems work, but it opens up a layer of player-driven storytelling that would otherwise be closed off. Players who enjoy building politically themed gameplay and want their club system to reflect that will need Chingyu’s mod installed for this feature to work correctly.
Zerbu’s Custom Preferences mod is a mod that allows other mods to add new preference categories in Create a Sim. It makes custom likes, dislikes, attraction settings, and other modded preferences appear correctly in CAS, which is especially useful for mods that expand personality and compatibility systems beyond what the base game provides.
Political World Mod
The Political World mod uses this framework to add custom political preference categories to CAS. With both mods installed, Sims can have romantic attraction preferences based on political beliefs, and those preferences can be set directly in CAS before a Sim ever enters the game world. This means political compatibility can be part of a Sim’s identity from the moment they are created, rather than something that only develops through gameplay events.
Zerbu’s mod is a required dependency for this feature. Without it, the custom political preference categories simply will not appear in CAS, and the political compatibility system will not have the CAS-side foundation it needs to function. If you plan to use Political World’s compatibility and attraction features, Zerbu’s Custom Preferences mod needs to be in your mods folder.
Custom CC Drinks Integration - Responsible Pregnancy Module 1 Substance Abuse
Module 1 of Responsible Pregnancy covers substance use during pregnancy, and one of the things I wanted to make sure of early on was that this system did not only work for base game drinks. A lot of players use custom bar and drink content, and if the mod only recognised base game alcohol, it would feel incomplete in any save that uses CC.
To address this, I have integrated Module 1 with a range of custom functional drink content. Custom alcoholic drinks from the following creators are recognised by my system and feed into the same substance related tracking and consequence systems as base game drinks:

Pregnancy Appropriate Bar Menu
Certain drinks such as root beer and cream cola are explicitly exempt from the alcohol system. I have also added support for mocktails, including Icemunmun’s mocktails, so pregnant Sims have access to pregnancy appropriate drink options that feel like genuine alternatives rather than just the absence of alcohol.
The goal with all of this was to make Module 1 feel complete regardless of what custom content a player has in their game. Whether someone plays almost entirely with CC bar and restaurant content or sticks mostly to base game, the substance use system should work consistently and make sense within their save.
