This is the last sneak peek before the early access release tomorrow🥹

Dietary Restrictions Included 🚫🍽️

This module introduces seven dietary restrictions, grouped by the type of immune or digestive response involved.

Some are IgE-mediated food allergies, while others involve non-IgE immune responses or intolerance-style reactions. Alpha-Gal Syndrome works a little differently, as it is a temporary tick-bite related condition triggered through outdoor gameplay in certain worlds.

🥛 EA Lactose Intolerant Trait Override

Similar to what I did with the Vegetarian trait in the Dietary Lifestyles module, I have overridden EA’s Lactose Intolerant trait and removed it from CAS. It will now be assigned through the Dietary Restrictions menu instead so everything stays consistent in one place.

⚙️ Allergy Assignment: Automatic or Manual (PLUS Inherited)

Players can choose how allergies are assigned in the settings. If you prefer full control, you can assign them manually. If you want something closer to how allergies actually work in real life, you can switch to automatic mode.

Automatic Assignment

In automatic mode, allergies are only triggered by catalyst events on a chance basis, whether physical or emotional, similar to how allergies can develop or present in real life. Allergies can also be inherited, therefore if a parent has one, their children may grow to develop the same food allergy too.

Currently gameplay for this module covers teens and up. I am working on gameplay for a separate update focused infants and children having allergic reactions, (for e.g., allergy-safe packed lunches, phone calls from school, etc)

😮‍💨 Allergic Reactions

There are four tiers of reaction severity which differs based on the sim’s circumstances and how much exposure your Sim has had to their dietary restriction

  • 🟡 Mild — Extreme itchiness

  • 🟠 Moderate — Nausea and Eye swelling

  • 🔴 Severe — All of the above plus swollen lip

  • 💀 Anaphylactic — Life-threatening. If your Sim does not receive medication in time, they will die.

However, this feature can be disabled in settings for players who prefer a safer gameplay experience.

The swollen lip and eyes have been designed to show properly across both light and dark skin tones.

💉 Epipen Animation

For severe allergic reactions, Sims can use an Epipen for Adeepinidgo’s Healthcare Redux.

⚠️ This feature (including the animation) is available only if you have Healthcare Redux installed.

🌾 Celiac Disease & Long-Term Effects

Celiac Disease will react differently than the other IgE-mediated food allergies.

Sims will experience a different set of reactions than the other food allergies when they consume food containing gluten BUT they cannot die directly from it. However, repeated gluten consumption can cause serious long-term damage over time, including:

  • Reduced focus and energy

  • Significant weight loss

  • Dehydration

  • Infertility (if using Relationship & Pregnancy Overhaul)

  • Increased risk of lymphoma (if using Healthcare Redux-Patreon Version)

Sims who are diagnosed with Celiac will be referred to a Gastroenterologist(don’t ever ask me to say this out loud or to spell it without autocorrect pls) for long term care and monitoring when diagnosed which can be used to monitor any long term damage.

🏷️ Food Label Checker

Sims with a dietary restriction can check food labels before eating to verify whether something is safe for them.

**As an extra note across dietary lifestyles and dietary restrictions i have turned off autonomous food interactions only for sims with lifestyles and allergies so that sims dont automatically eat foods that aren’t aligned with their dietary needs. I can make this an optional setting if anyone wants chaos.

🏥 Diagnosis

If sim starts reacting to eating certain foods, your sim will need to use the Phone to book an appointment to visit an immunologist, to take a skin prick test to receive a proper diagnosis and prescription medication.

🍽️ AllergySafe Caterer

There is a hireable AllergySafe Caterer NPC who players can hire to cook foods to suit all allergy restrictions. If sim hosts or is invited to a party/event they can complain about the lack of allergy safe foods and ask host to cater to their dietary needs through hiring an allergy safe caterer

🤰 Optional Responsible Pregnancy Add-On

For players who use My Responsible Pregnancy Mod, there is an optional add-on module.

Pregnant Sims with food allergies may be treated as high-risk pregnancies if they repeatedly experience serious food reactions.

And many many more features !
